Trauma and anesthesiology

AbstractThis review can provide basic guidelines in management of trauma patients form admittance to operating room Trauma is the leading cause of death in young persons in Europe and North America. The role of the anesthesiologist is to provide necessary resuscitation on admittance to the trauma center, to optimize the patient for the operating room, and to maintain the cardiovascular stability during the operation. A large number of complications related to the trauma, and preexisting conditions and illness can influence the preoperative course and intraoperative management of anesthesia. The overall outcome in trauma patients depends on resuscitation measures that were taken in the first hour following the trauma event. Only by multidisciplinary and consultative approach, diagnostics, therapy and prognosis of the disease can be done in the right way for the patient's well-being.
